For fourteen years, Deir ez-Zor, a vital link between Iraq and Syria, has endured devastating conflict, leaving 74% of the city destroyed. Today, only two of its 22 neighborhoods are habitable. Public services, education, health, and electricity are severely deteriorated, leaving families without even the most basic support. An estimated 50 schools were completely destroyed, and 249 are operating but need urgent repairs.
The economy has come to a standstill. Livelihoods have vanished. Families who once had homes, jobs, and futures are now displaced, holding onto hope with nothing but resilience and that’s wearing thin.
The Need is Urgent: We must act now to restore dignity and stability to 50,000 direct beneficiaries, including 1,050 students and 25 young professionals.
