We’re calling on you, California students, to help make a life-changing impact in northern Syria. We’re building the Al Mountada Private Model School in Jarablus, a safe haven for nearly 350 children— many of whom have been orphaned by conflict. This school is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a symbol of hope, a place where children can find safety, learn, and dream again.
Imagine a school where children, many of whom have known only hardship, receive a first-class education. Where students side by side continue their education. Imagine classrooms filled with laughter and learning, a kitchen and dining hall where every child receives a hot meal, and science and computer labs that open their minds to a world of possibilities. This school will provide full services: transportation, meals, clothes, medical checkups and quality education.
But this vision can’t become a reality without you. These children need champions—people who believe in the power of education to transform lives. You can be that person.
To establish the school, we need $427,000 for construction and $70,000 for furnishing, the land was already purchased and paid for.
Thanks to a generous $195,000 donation from the Zachariah & Dania Group, we’ve made great progress. But to finish the project and have the school ready for the 2025-2026 school year, we still need $302,000.
