In villages and cities alike, homes are uninhabitable, schools lie empty, and vital infrastructure is inoperable. Over 2.4 million children are out of school, 16.7 million people are in urgent need of assistance, and 90% of the population lives under the poverty line.
In addition, over 2 million people are crammed into overcrowded displacement camps, living in makeshift shelters that offer no protection against freezing winters. Parents wrap their children in scraps of cloth, desperate to shield them from the bitter cold. For millions, there’s no electricity, no clean water, no heating fuel, just a daily battle to endure another day.
The time to act is now.
Our Emergency Response: Addressing Immediate Needs and Building Futures
We are working tirelessly to address the immediate needs of families while laying the foundation for recovery:
• Fresh bread portions to nourish vulnerable families.
• Winter baskets with essentials like blankets and warm clothing.
• Hygiene kits to keep families safe and healthy.
• Rehabilitation of schools and homes, providing children with a chance to learn and families a place to rebuild.
• Restoration of water stations and infrastructure, ensuring communities have access to clean water and essential services.
But the need far exceeds what we can do alone. With only 21% of the 2024 UN Humanitarian Response Plan for Syria funded, families cannot afford to wait.
